About Us
It all began in 1998 when, captivated by this magnificent place, we decided to start producing our own wine. We cleared the fields after years of neglect, and little by little, our first Sangiovese vineyard came to life, giving us our signature black label, Poggiolato.
We are a small family-run estate, taking care of everything from the vineyard to the cellar.
Our wine production is limited, which allows us to focus on meticulous handcrafting at every stage, preserving both nature and the quality of the grapes.
In a land full of vineyards like Tuscany, the greatest satisfaction comes from seeing happy people return to us and enjoy our wines.
From the very beginning, Poggiolato’s goal has been to produce healthy wine while respecting the natural balance, which is very important to us.
Among the most beautiful choices we have made in life, Poggiolato certainly stands out, with its simplicity, serenity, and joy.

What an enchanting and wonderful place! We started with a delightful wine tasting in this beautiful location and then enjoyed a wonderful overnight stay. Caterina is such a sweet host who makes you feel completely at ease and speaks excellent English. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend this property. It’s truly amazing
Wat een leuke en fijne plek om te zijn! Wij begonnen met een heerlijke wijnproeverij bij deze prachtige locatie en zijn vervolgens lekker een nachtje blijven slapen. Caterina is een super lieve host die je erg welkom laat voelen en uitstekend Engels praat. Wij hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad en kunnen deze locatie dan ook enkel aanraden. Het is echt geweldig
What can we say except that you must come and experience it! This estate is run by two sisters and their enterprising parents, all deeply in love with their work. Listening to them speak and seeing that spark of passion in their eyes is extraordinary.
The 12th-century castle has been renovated with all modern comforts, yet still preserves its traditional charm and timeless atmosphere. Nestled in the Tuscan hills, it’s a paradise to savor with both your eyes and your heart.

This is truly a diamond in the mountains both the place and the people. All work at this vineyard is done within the family and all activities come from a place of love. You can see and sense it in everything; how you are welcomed and supported when making the booking, how you are welcomed with love and hospitality and how the whole family collaborates to allow you to experience the magic of this place. It truly feels, like coming home, and being warmly welcomed by family. Note that there is no breakfast or dinner, but if you are up for a walk, there are restaurants in the near towns and there are possibilities to prepare your own breakfast. Small things and coffee and tea are provided. The wine tasting and experiencing the hand crafted family work is amazing and it grows the respect for the work and wine they make.
I warmly and full heartedly recommend this place to anyone, who is seeking a peaceful, loving place and doesn’t mind making your own breakfast and having a small adventure to the friendly near by towns for dinner.
We couldn’t have chosen a better place for our stay. Silvia is a wonderful host who gave us excellent advice and recommendations. Thank you so much—we will definitely be back. We highly recommend it!
